American Legion Ceremony

Chaplain Ben Maxedon participated in the 4 Chaplains ceremony for the American Legion.

Pike Kiwanis Annual Pancake Breakfast

Chaplain Ben Maxedon and his wife, Patti volunteered to help with the Pike Kiwanis Annual Pancake Breakfast.

Pike County Baseball Opening Day

Chaplain Maxedon gave the invocation for Pike County’s Baseball Opening Day Ceremonies.

Economic Forecast Summit

Chaplain Maxedon gave the invocation and pledge for the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Economic Forecast Summit.

APRIL 2011

Work Ready Initiative

Chaplain Maxedon met with the Pike County Chamber of Commerce and the Director of the Work Ready Initiative.

American Legion Veteran’s Memorial

Beginning in April 2011, on the first Monday of each month at noon, Prayer Power and the American Legion joined together at the Veterans Memorial on the Courthouse square to pray for the Veterans and the active duty military.

Pike Co. High School Awards Ceremony

At the Pike County Honors program Prayer Power announced the winners of the first Prayer Power Faith Awards. Sarah Elizabeth Casey and Christopher Camantique are the 2011 recipients. It was refreshing and encouraging to find young adults faithful to Christian values and lifestyle. We are honored to award their passion and dedication by which they share their faith.

Kiwanis B.U.G. program

PRAYER POWER SPONSORS B.U.G PROGRAM

Prayer Power sponsored the Kiwanis third grade B.U.G. program (Bring Up Grades). Those children that showed improvement in core subjects were treated to an ice cream party.

MAY 2011

COMMON GROUND RADIO MINISTRY

On May 1, 2011 Prayer Power launched its new radio ministry COMMON GROUND. Rev. Kris Mullis and Chaplain Ben Maxedon provide discussions on biblical topics as well as interviews with individuals who are impacting the community.

2011 National Day of Prayer

The MEN FROM MT OLIVE provided the praise and worship music for the noon service celebrating the National Day of Prayer. Along with great music, we had several local pastors praying and two presentations given on behalf of our state senators. God provide another year of beautiful weather.

National Day of Prayer Evening Service

OUT OF ZEBULUN gave a spirit filled performance and along with the Mt Gilead Church Choir lead the worship for the evening prayer service celebrating the National Day of Prayer. We are thankful to Pastor Fred Thompson and all those that helped make the service such a success.

2011 Prayer Power Faith Awards

Sarah Casey and Chris Camantique received the first annual award of the PRAYER POWER FAITH AWARD given to graduating seniors in Pike County. Actual awards were presented by Chaplain Maxedon at the evening prayer service for the 2011 National Day of Prayer.

Pike County School Prayer Walk

PRAYER WALK 2011

Prayer Power held the annual Prayer Walk for the Pike County school system.

First Back-To-School-Bash

2011 SCHOOL BASH

Following the annual Prayer Walk, Prayer Power co-sponsored the Back-To-School-Bash. 1st and 2nd grades received book bags and supplies to help start them off on the right foot for school.

Meeting Congressman Westmoreland

Congressman Westmoreland meets with Chamber

Congressman Westmoreland met with several Chamber members to discuss what was happening in Washington. Prayer Power was represented by Chaplain Maxedon.
